UK hyperpop trailblazer hidingthehurt shares his new EP 'Under The City Lights', announcing it'll be his final project under the hidingthehurt moniker.

Back in February, the 20-year-old Brit teased the project by putting out 'First Rate Education', a single that grapples with the expectations that come with a good education. Now releasing the full body of work, the producer/artist reveals that it's a swan song.

Addressing his fans in a statement on Instagram, hidingthehurt writes: "As some of you may have noticed recently, I haven’t been as active on this account and haven’t engaged with you guys on a level previous to this. This is for one main reason and that reason being that I have decided after long consideration to wind down the hidingthehurt chapter of my musical career. I started this expression of art back in 2020 and have since achieved things from my bedroom I could only have dreamed of.

"That being said however, I am a very different person to who I was back then and I find the style of music I’m making currently to be one that does not align with myself anymore. This project was a great expression of angst and personal feelings that I intended to express through must yet I do not find myself having the thoughts and feelings I did back then that inspired me to this craft. I have always been about authenticity and thus I do not feel like it would be an accurate representation of my life to keep making songs through this artistry."

"This summer I will embark on a series of shows and festivals which I cannot wait to announce and so I implore you to come watch as it will be the last time you will ever hear these songs live! I also want to stress that I WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE MUSIC ON ANOTHER ACCOUNT and I am so excited to share that craft with you soon. In the meantime, I present you with my final body of work under the hidingthehurt moniker: Under The City Lights."
