Shoal & Gonebrook Debut New Sound with Innovative Underground Single
Shoal & Gonebrook, the new underground electronic music project from two established figures in the UK drum & bass scene, have unveiled a new single.
With their single, 'September', the duo offers a fresh, boundary-pushing take on electronic music that’s both diverse and daring.
Combining the talents of Chris Miles-Ansah, aka Shoal (formerly Chords), and Ryan Gonsalves, aka Gonebrook (formerly Paleblu), this collaboration brings their deep roots in breaks and bass to a fresh sonic landscape, blending elements of techno, house, and UK underground sounds.
Shoal, renowned for his melodic and high-energy drum & bass productions on Andy C’s RAM Records, shifts his focus to a broader electronic palette. His expertise in breaks and bass remains, but Shoal now explores new styles with innovative sounds that weave through house grooves and techno rhythms.
Gonebrook, formerly Paleblu, brings over a decade of experience in the London underground scene. Known for his work as an MC and live performer with iconic labels like Hospital Records, he has earned praise for his versatility and stage presence. Now, as Gonebrook, he focuses on production, contributing his deep rhythmic expertise to the duo’s forward-thinking project.
Together, Shoal & Gonebrook craft a dynamic fusion of breakbeats and electronic grooves, grounding their new sound in London’s underground scene while venturing into uncharted territories.
'September' is out now.
