DMY Mix 013 | Blossom Hill
British producer, DJ, and photographer, Blossom Hill, has just released his debut EP, 'Home Colours' via Loose Fit Records. An emotionally charged collection of electronic tracks, it collates fragments of memories from his hometown of London and his adopted residence in Berlin.
"I’ve been a long time fan of the DMY mix series for years now having heard some of my favourite artists contribute some incredible mixes. It's really informed my musical upbringing over the years - so I'm absolutely honoured to be able to offer my own contribution.
I wanted to create something colourful but still energetic and somehow it slipped more into techno along the way (perhaps a side effect of living in Berlin) but I feel it represents a selection of music I’ve both recently fallen in love with and music I’ve rekindled my appreciation for, it feels like a nice way to connect the dots between those two worlds and the styles I’ve been obsessed with over the years. I recorded the mix in my studio in Friedrichshain, in front of my best friend who is both my biggest fan and harshest critic, which was invaluable. Sometimes I feel like recording peak time club mixes in isolation feels a bit flat, feeding off the excitement of sharing music you love with someone close to you really helps translate the energy into the mix."
