Tickets for Fyre Festival II go on sale without lineup, venue, or date
Fyre Fest founder Billy McFarland is officially selling tickets for his “2.0 version” of the festival.
The convicted fraudster took to social media back April to officially announce Fyre Festival II. Then, the following month, he revealed that a Broadway musical based on the infamous event could be in the works.
Now, McFarland has taken to TikTok to confirm that tickets have in fact gone on sale.
“This is a big day, because as of right now, Fyre Festival II tickets are officially on sale,” he said. “We spoke to people as far away as the Middle East and South America, and ultimately, we decided that Fyre Festival II is coming back to the Caribbean. We are targeting Fyre Festival II for the end of next year. In the meantime, we’ll be doing pop-ups and events across the world. Guys, this is your chance to get in. This is everything I’ve been working towards. Let’s fucking go.”
Despite not having a lineup, venue, or date yet, McFarland has made “The First 100” tier tickets for Fyre Festival 2.0 available for the price of $499, with subsequent levels listed as selling for up to $7,999 at a future date.
Fyre Festival was originally billed as a luxury music festival for only the most elite of attendees — meaning those who could cough up the $500 ticket fee.
McFarland was committed to the high-end image of the event, having recorded advertisements with celebrities like Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski. He even paid Kendall Jenner $250,000 to post about it. He pulled out all the stops on the artist performances, having booked the likes of Blink-182, Pusha T, Migos, and Tyga. All of them pulled out before the event could even happen.
When attendees got to the Bahamas, it was far from the experience they'd be advertised. There was a tent shortage, and those who were lucky enough to get one were unlucky enough to have wet mattress placed on the floor and to have been given cheese on bread as one of their supposedly high-end meals.
Earlier this month, McFarland announced that a smaller Fyre event in the Hamptons had been canceled because his “vision” for the brand is “so much bigger than 200 people.” Instead, it’s “10,000 people on one of the best islands in the world with the best talent in the world.”
Perhaps Fyre Festival II will go swimmingly and will become the next Coachella, but if it fails all over again, then at least we might get a sequel to the infamous Netflix documentary. Only time will tell.
