tema_saki’s ‘Picnic’ is an ode to never-ending love
It takes an insane amount of courage to have a picnic in the middle of January, especially in the bitter winters of Enfield where tema_saki grew up with a fervent love for all things musical.
The Reading-based artist is back with an indie pop ballad that’ll thaw even the coldest of hearts as if the calendar had magically leaped all the way to July. In it, she proclaims her dedication to her lover over a layer of dreamy chorus-soaked guitars as her angelic voice lilts overtop of it before being joined by her tear-jerking harmonies.
The new song sees her taking a break from the garage-tinged direction of more recent tracks like 'Sleepless'. She’s now turning back to the inspirations of Melanie Martinez, Conan Gray, Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, and Andrew Gardens — who defined her early work and helped her carve out her own voice in the increasingly crowded indie scene.
It’s all juxtaposed by her signature alternative and grunge look, which stands in stark contrast to her ethereal songs that have been featured on likes of BBC Introducing.
