tema_saki's indie pop gem 'Apologising' is about overthinking, trust and love
Newcomer on the scene, tema_saki unveils her brand new single ‘Apologising’. Shortly after the release of ‘Im Fine’, the Reading-based singer-songwriter shares another intimate and stripped back indie pop gem.
Drawing from the alternative pop canon with a hip hop and indie rock slant, the rising multi-instrumentalist uses her everyday experiences to craft relatable and introspective music.
“My new single ‘Apologising’ is a song I’ve written to a special someone that I love,” says tema, “I tend to overthink a lot and it was really overwhelming for myself and for this person to have to constantly hear me apologise for bringing things up that upset me. The things that upset me were never an issue in reality but in my mind it was crushing.
“This song reflects the dread I felt once I had let out my overthinking to then realise that there was never an issue. I felt as though I would lose this person not because they would ever give up on me but I would on myself,” she continues, “In the position I am now with this person, they proved me right to be able to trust them and to not overthink but to love myself enough to see I deserve their love. This song has allowed me to let go of perfectionism and to realise that while I am not perfect, that doesn’t make me any less beautiful and desirable inside and out.”
