Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon is selling off her old clothes to fans
Kim Gordon is putting her wardrobe up for sale to raise money for charity.
The Sonic Youth legend exploded onto the New York noise rock scene in the 90's and quickly became a fashion icon with her preppy polo dresses and feminist slogan tees - so timeless that her looks are still plastered across edgy Pinterest boards as style inspiration for a new generation of 'kool' kids today.
As announced on her Instagram, Gordon is set to have a closet sale this Sunday (August 27). Her stylist Christina Turner will be pitching up at Submission Beauty on Rowena Avenue to sell both Gordon’s and her own wares. “We have been purging thru her closet and I must say, there are gems! Early bird gets the worm. Limited pieces, small collection,” Turner wrote in a post.
Known for donning Prada and Miu Miu, as well as having starred in famous campaigns for both Marc Jacobs and Saint Laurent, there’s likely to be a bunch of gems available for music fans and fashion-heads to get their hands on.
All the money made from Gordon’s side of the sale will go to the Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Center.
