Rubii and sydo^ pay homage to the Star Wars franchise on 'Revan'
Everyone loves a good Star Wars Sith Lord. The edge of the Dark Side lends itself perfectly to the grit of grime and the bite of trap music, but no one would've guessed that it would make its way into a song about eradicating negativity and maintaining humility.
These themes seem to go against everything the Sith Order stands for, but that juxtaposition is perhaps why Rubii and sydo^'s new song 'Revan' works so well.
The song's title comes from Darth Revan from the LucasArts video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, who started out as a Jedi Knight before falling to the Dark Side and waging war against the Galactic Republic. The grandiosity of his mission perfectly feeds into the confidence that Rubii and sydo^ display on the microphone on the new song.
That confidence is perhaps why Rubii's found so much success, with over 1.7 million streams to date and radio play on BBC 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network, and BBC Radio Bristol.
