The alt-pop singer's new song is dedicated to the painful feeling of drifting away from a close friend

Friendship break ups can hurt as much as one with a partner, and purpl is here to soundtrack that unique and painful experience.

The Bristol-based artist's new song 'Freezing' explores all of the emotions that come with getting the cold shoulder, telling DMY, "We went from talking everyday to feeling like strangers over an argument we had resolved. I couldn't understand how the dynamic changed so suddenly, so this song is me trying to make sense of the situation."

Her expert ability to take those feelings and turn them into powerful alt-pop anthems has garnered the attention of BBC Radio 1, Spotify's New Music Friday UK, and Apple Music's New In Alternative. Throughout this past winter, she was featured on BBC Introducing and BBC Upload, with BBC Radio Solent declaring 'Freezing' their record of the week.
