OneDa seeks fortunes and 'Vibes' in vibrant new video, announces mixtape
Manchester-hailing multi-disciplinary artist OneDa today announces her upcoming mixtape with a brand new single and music video.
The former member of influential Manchester hip hop group The Mouse Outfit has had a successful year since signing to Heavenly Records, utilising her dedicated supporter base in the city and beyond to help launch her solo career to new levels.
Entitled ‘Vibes’, OneDa’s latest offering came to exist organically during lockdown and seamlessly blends old school and new school vibes to create a fiery grime-leaning cut.
“It’s all about bringing the correct energy, whilst protecting your own at the same,” the artist states. “I believe we were placed on this earth to shine and guide. This song encapsulates the essence of shining in your power and guiding.”
Filmed and directed by Hyde Productions, the music video is a fun and visually striking offering which sees OneDa take up the role of a fortune teller, oozing confidence as she shells her icy flows beside her crystal ball.
For the last few years, the Mancunian artist has been running hip hop therapy sessions for east Manchester youth, working with Pupil Referral Units, Reform Radio and on the influential Herchester project for womxn, non-binary and transgender MCs across Manchester, Blackpool, Morcambe and Sheffield.
Combining her community work alongside her music career, OneDa is moving full steam ahead as we approach the September 9 release date for her new project.
