Mya K Returns With Reflective Single 'Should've Known'
South London-based Mya K returns with 'Should’ve Known', the lead single from her forthcoming EP.
Produced by long-time collaborator VELLI, 'Should’ve Known' fuses sensual R&B melodies with infectious Afrobeat inspired drums.
An uneasy, distorted tune opens the track, setting the scene for Mya's introspective storytelling as she regretfully sings of a lover who played with her heart.
Marking her first release of 2024, Mya spent the course of last year honing her sound. 'Should've Known' signals a change in direction to a darker, more reflective offering.
The Nigerian Music Video Award winner pulls inspiration from a variety of genres, but R&B remains the beating heart of her sound. The rising artist has confirmed that 'Should've Known' indicates a flavour of her upcoming EP.
