Jelani Blackman drops new visuals for mixtape bonus track 'Cold'

Following the release of his debut project ‘Unlimited’ towards the end of last year, Jelani Blackman‘s first single of 2022 ‘Cold’ drops with some artistic new visuals.

The West London-based artist has steadily emerged as one of the city’s most vibrant and unique voices in recent times, blending his childhood influences of soul and R&B with the raw energy and attitude of grime.

Jelani’s latest offering arrives as a bonus track for ‘Unlimited’, a tape which showcases his strengths as an artist and weaves his captivating vocal style through a myriad of sounds, styles and genres. The now 13-track project was born out of lockdown and pandemic life, uncovering personal moments and heart-felt insights into the artist’s life.

Speaking about the new single ‘Cold’, Jelani says: “I’ve always tried to use my voice to say what I see and mean something. There’s been lots of things that have made it difficult sometimes, especially trying to be consistent through the pandemic, but I’ve been lucky to have great moments during it and the space I’m in now is perfect. The other artists I’ve been working with have got me very excited about what’s coming next. I produced ‘Cold’ myself because I knew exactly the energy and statement I wanted out of it and how I wanna set pace for the rest of the year.”

Complete with mellow production and punctuated with Blackman’s smooth yet hard-hitting wordplay, ‘Cold’ marks only the beginning for the rising artist in 2022.
