David GotSound gets romantic on mixtape bonus track 'Repeat'

After realising his latest mixtape ‘Greatness Isn’t Given’ didn’t have a single love song on it, South East London’s David GotSound has sought to put that right with his latest single.

Dropping as a bonus track of sorts for his recent EP, ‘Repeat’ is a song about love and sex. Inspired by his current relationship, David sings and raps about the intense emotional and physical bond he shares with his partner, expressing a raw vulnerability that was absent from the project he shared a few months back.

February’s EP was crafted through the lens of David’s relationship with God and religion, using the 8 tracks to assert his commitment to succeeding despite the challenges he faces on a daily basis, such as a lack of self-confidence, interpersonal conflicts, heartbreak and racism.

The new single is what it sounds like when the rapper gets romantic. Produced by Timmy T6, ‘Repeat’ is a hazy and melodic trap ballad with haunting vocal samples, synths and a booming 808.

Fresh from the release of ‘Greatness Isn’t Given’, 2022 is hotting up to be a big year for David who has placed down another marker of intent with the new single. Fans can expect some big singles and some even bigger live appearances as the year goes on.
