Albertina goes on a romantic late-night cruise in visual for debut single 'Cars'
British-Caribbean songstress Albertina has been making waves in Europe’s underground music circles over the last year with her unique vocals and un-filtered, experimental approach to songwriting. After bursting into the spotlight in 2021 with a feature on Guy Gerber’s 2-track EP ‘Bocat’, the genre-bending musician is now staking her claim as one of the UK’s hottest new homegrown talents with her official debut single ‘Cars’.
“I have never been more ready to birth my secret journey of love. I proudly present my musical baby…Cars,” the singer says. Punctuating the new release with her signature blend of UK electronic sounds, rhythmic percussion and effervescent synths, Albertina glides across the glitchy production with her raw, emotive lyricism.
Dropping alongside the debut release, Albertina is also treating fans to her first music video. Shot by New York’s Gabriel Chiu and directed by one of the UK’s best rising filmmakers Eve Mahoney, the visual sees Albertina cut through an after-hours cityscape beside a love interest.
Made to work equally as well on the dance-floor as it does soundtracking a late-night cruise through the city, the emerging talent has provided us with another summer anthem and she’s only just getting started. You can catch Albertina play at XOYO London on June 23 2022, where she’ll be bringing her debut single to the stage in what is heating up to be a night to remember.
