Night Slugs releases huge remix compilation featuring Jossy Mitsu, Scratcha DVA, Hagan and more
Night Slugs return with their biggest release of 2023 so far to celebrate their 15th anniversary, 'Classix Remixed'.
An extensive, club-ready compilation album that fuses Night Slugs' past, present and future, the selection of originals covers the breath of the Night Slugs catalog, with foundational 2010 tracks like Girl Unit's 'IRL' right through to nu-skool 2022 cuts like Bok Bok's 'Ouais' all getting sliced, diced, updated and re-imagined.
Guest features on the 23-track record include some of the scene's most hyped-up front runners, as well as a selection of legends who shaped the rave landscape as we know it, including Jossy Mitsu, Scratcha DVA, Grandmixxer, Bored Lord, MoMa Ready, Hagan, Karen Nyame KG, River Moon, DJ Polo & NKC, DJ Lag, scotti dee and many more.
It takes a rare breed of label to have the kind of indelible stamp on a scene that Night Slugs has had on today’s UK club culture. Started in 2010 by South London DJ and producer Bok Bok, real name Alex Sushon, and L-Vis 1990, the imprint captured the raw energy of sounds such as UK funky and spliced it with electronic music from around the world to create a new wave of club music.
15 years later and the label’s core London sound system mentality has helped reconfigure the UK electronic scene and push elements of the underground into mainstream view, paving the way for a new generation of artists, DJs and producers.
As part of its 15th anniversary, the seminal label is currently on a global tour stretching across the UK, Europe and Australia.
The tour is set to hit London, Glasgow, Milan, Berlin, Melbourne, Sydney and beyond, each time bringing an all-star line-up of old friends and label alumni to a selection of the world's best-loved clubs and rave spots.
