Ivohé Reveals Her Late Night Desires On 'yemmal2am'
German-Venezuelan artist Ivohé returns with the new single, ‘yemmal2am’.
Coming in hot at just 1 minute and 37 seconds, it's a heady mix dreamy pop melodies, breaks and soft yet raw vocals.
The title, 'yemmal2am' is a playful shorthand of the Spanish phrase, 'y eso me mata a las 2am', which means 'this is what kills me at 2am'. Naturally, Ivohé's track dives into her inner turmoil and late-night thoughts and desires.
The dynamic and fast-paced production juxtapose with Ivohé's candid and vulnerable lyrics that explore a longing for happiness, peace, and connection.
‘yemmal2am’ is the third single from Ivohé's forthcoming record, ‘Sin City’, slated for release this summer.
Explaining the track's meaning, Ivohé said: "It's about overthinking all the negative things ever said to you and second guessing yourself and all your life choices at 2am. Within this space I explore feelings I often get looking at people that seem stable and not ridden with constant mood swings, what does it feel like to be you? I often wish I could experience mental stability and in this song I’m exploring that."
