Grimes has made a baby AI lullaby to help you sleep
Grimes has partnered with mood music startup Endel on a new project called ‘AI Lullaby’, an experience designed to help “improve both sleep and wellness in children and adults.”
According to Endel, the project was inspired by Grimes’ experience as a new mother.
“I think, if approached properly, AI has the ability to radically fix our world,” Grimes said in a statement. “I appreciate Endel because they represent the growing trend of humane technology. I hope that the fields of AI safety, research, philosophy, as well as humane AI and spiritual technology etc. can grow a lot in the coming years. We’ll need it!”
With original music and vocals from Grimes, you can hear it via the Endel iOS app until December 23, and will be available via Android and Amazon Alexa later this year. Find out more here.
In a recent New York Times interview, Grimes said her baby, X Æ A-XII, stays up watching “radical art.”
“I’ve watched Apocalypse Now and stuff with my baby,” she is quoted as saying. “He’s into radical art. Like, he just actually is, and I don’t think it’s problematic to engage with them on that level.
“In general, stuff for babies is really just creatively bad,” she added. “I don’t want your first introduction to the world to just be all this aimless crap.”
Last year, Grimes said that live music would become “obsolete” thanks to the changing landscape of the digital world.
